Dr. Hook is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). He has his Doctorate in Educational Psychology and Counseling from Northern Illinois University and Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University. Jan is a clinical member and clinical supervisor with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Jan’s area of expertise includes individual, group, and marital counseling.

Prior to coming to The Arlington Center, he was the director of the Marital Restoration workshop, and Faithful & True Ministries for men and women (persons struggling with sexual addictions) at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington. Jan also worked for years as the director of the counseling center at Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL. His expertise also includes counseling men struggling with sex addiction. 

Jan is a former adjunct professor at Trinity International University. He taught Human Sexuality and Career Counseling at the graduate school. He has served with The Crucible Project, a ministry of men’s weekend retreats. He is married with one child.
